| JOHN KUMMER PRESENTS THE HISTORY OF "COUNTY POINT." |
| |
| John Kummer, owner of The Point, a popular restaurant and service station on Highway 61, will be the speaker at a program Tuesday, January 15, 7 p.m. at the Denmark Town Hall, 90th and Oakgreen in Denmark Township. Kummer will describe how The Point grew from a small gas station into an extensive service facility and community gathering place. The public is invited to the free program, sponsored by the Denmark Township Historical Society. Refreshments will be served. |

The Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the stories, traditions and historic buildings in the township. Programs are presented every other month. Recent projects include marking and maintaining a pioneer cemetery across from Carpenter Nature Center, hanging historic photos in the Town Hall, and sponsoring an annual vintage base ball game. Members also conduct interviews for oral histories and encourage residents to preserve their own family stories and traditions. |
